Writing the fundraising proposal to trusts
Here are some key pointers
- Keep it short and simple. If the proposal is complicated attach a
'report' to the letter (some larger donors will expect this).
- State what your Charity does
- Be clear about what the project is and why you are applying to that particular
trust
- Breakdown the costs
- Make sure you are addressing the proposal to the right person.
- Suggest a further meeting and follow up within a week.
- Look at your database and contact list and ensure you do not have any other
forms of access (e.g. trustees, donors etc)
- Be positive.
