Writing a speech quickly

Often fundraisers find themselves in situations where they have to think on their feet.

Writing a speech should include the following:-

  • Attention. Your first line should attract attention.
  • Relevance.  Explain why what your organisation does is important.
  • Main message.  Go through what your main message is.
  • Real Examples. Tell a couple of real stories which explain what your charity does.
  • Summarise.  End with a one liner that brings together your speech
